Aircraft Performance Suite
The ADF Mobile Solutions applications collect and consolidate data from the aircraft and fuse it with
mission-critical business operations in real time. ADF's business applications facilitate operational improvements
and bottom line financial impact. There are three applications suites:
Load Planning
The Load Planning module provides a statistical and graphically displayed plan based on actual load input and the detailed
specifications for each aircraft. The graphical CG display assists in establishing the optimum weight distribution to achieve minimum drag
configuration for the flight. The resulting benefits are:
- Increased Payload
- Increased Operational Safety
- Reduced Fuel Burn
- Eliminated Tech Fuel Stops
Weight and Balance
The Weight and Balance module can either accept load data directly from the Load Plan or let the crew enter the critical
elements as needed. This module is the means of refining and adjusting the aircraft load to achieve the final distribution and
ensuring that it is optimum and within limits for the specific aircraft prior to departure. The Weight and Balance module
generates the flight manifest and passes the final load data on to the Takeoff/Landing module calculations. Benefits include:
- Increased Payload
- Calculation Errors Eliminated
- Reduced Process Steps
- Central Engineering Control
- Multiple Centroids for greater accuracy
- Digital Data Archives
- Enhanced Regulatory Compliance
- More Accurate Data for TO and Landing Performance
Takeoff and Landing Performance
Using data from the Load Planning and Weight and Balance modules along with the aircraft-specific database and an
airport/runway analysis database that is updated every two hours, the application calculates complete takeoff and landing
solutions. The crew is provided with a complete analysis including all takeoff settings for each available runway, optimized
reduced thrust takeoff settings, an electronically generated departure manifest and departure instructions. MELs/CDLs are
taken into account in all calculations. While en-route, landing calculations are refined as fuel consumption and weather and other variables are updated.
Some of the benefits of the Takeoff/Landing Performance module are:
- Exact calculations (no rounding)
- Increased payload
- Airport data current every 2 hours
- Calculations all on mobile unit
- Electronic flight manifest
- Optimum reduced thrust settings
- Reduced thrust archive
- Manual errors eliminated
Cruise Performance
The Cruise Performance module alerts the crews to reset cruise thrust based on the current conditions
to gain maximum fuel economy for any given flight. It improves fuel burn efficiency during flight by providing the means to
easily calculate refined thrust settings at set intervals while in-flight. An internal timer alerts the crews to confirm the
appropriate power setting. The program will request an input of the current altitude and temperature to recalculate the
optimum thrust levels. Key benefits include:
- Reduces fuel burn up to 2%
- No more time-consuming interpolations every time flight conditions change en-route
- PDA can be taken anywhere
- Eliminates need for bulky manuals
